Measuring & Ordering
Using the formula below, you can determine how much sod you need to purchase. Our sod is sold by the yard.
(width x length = square feet)
Square feet divided by 9 = square yard.
Preparation
Proper planning of where you will be laying the sod is key to achieving the turf you desire. Begin by leveling the soil, ensuring it is at least 1 inch below any driveway, sidewalk, or curb. Incorporating a starter fertilizer (E.g.: 10-20-20, used at 10 lbs. per 1,000 square feet) is another essential step to preparing your property for sod. Once prepared, take a soil sample and have the PH tested. Turf requires a neutral PH level to absorb the nutrients it needs to grow correctly. If you need more information on collecting and testing a soil sample, consult the soil conservation service.
